Here is Althea Bare Essentials Contour Cleanser  review which is part of the skincare line is called Bare Essentials by Althea which is a popular online K-Beauty shop.

This has launched their own product called the Bare Essentials.  This new line is picking up on Korean newest trend on skincare diet that has been picking up the trend since 2016.  It is a trend that focuses on the basic skincare steps-cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

Althea Bare Essentials Contour Cleanser comes without a box but it is wrap in plastic.  The frozen looking plastic tube allows one to see the amount of product inside.  It has white looking paste and one needs very little to foam up a lot of cleanser. I could also feel the micro capsules which breaks when mix with water.

There is a light powdery scent in the cleanser. The toner and the cream also has the same scent.  The cleanser does last a long time because one need very little.


As for the ingredients, the glycerin does help in making the cleanser not drying comparing to the usual foam cleanser.  It uses derivatives of coconut oil and palm oil as cleanser ingredients in it.  There are surfactant for foaming cleanser presented so do check it out.  Potassium hydroxide can be irritating to some skin type.
I do feel the cool feeling which is because of the menthol inside the cleanser.
Some ingredients such as lactose, vitamin E, ice plant extract, lemon are to lessen the drying effect of foam cleanser.
As for the micro capsules feeling and the exfoliating feeling, it might because of the Microcrystalline Cellulose and salt presented in the cleanser.

It is called contour cleanser for reduces swelling for a defined face shape and improving blood circulation.  Skin does feel clean and it does remove even the felt eyeliner that I have drawn on as seen from the photos.  The cleanser has a pH of 7-8.  I can't really use it much because my skin apparently doesn't really like foam cleanser and synthetic fragrance.  My skin gets irritated from a lot of foam cleansers nowadays.

I don't really like Althea Bare Essentials Contour Cleanser for my skin type.

Overall, Althea Bare Essentials Contour Cleanser is suitable for people who love foam cleanser, don't mind fragrance and doesn't have skin that is easily irritated like mine.

First of all, look at this gorgeous packaging. It is a bottle that is sure going to attention once you whip it out of the bottle.  

There are a lot of ingredients in this serum so make sure to have a look at it because I could not possibility discuss every single ingredients in this serum.

The first few ingredients are water, glycerin, preservative dipropylene glycol and solvent Methylpropanediol.  Niacinamide is presented there to brighten the skin in long run.  There are lot of plant extracts in there to help the skin with healing, rejuvenation, moisturisation and brightening.

Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 is presented which is famous for skincare products to combat wrinkles and ageing.

Sodium hyaluronate, soluble collagen, aloe vera, algae extract ferment deals with skin hydration.

Tin oxide, ceramide, cholesterol, folic acid, adenosine, squalene, shea butter, Argan oil and hydrogenated castor oil deal with providing moisturisation for the dry skin type.

There are some ingredients that are allergen to certain skin type (oily skin or clogged prone to certain ingredient) such as titanium oxide, mica, algae extract, kelp protein and cetearyl alcohol.  However, not everyone has the same thing that they react to so check it out first.

Klavuu White Pearlsation Special Divine Pearl Serum is in form of pearly emulsion that is really beautiful. It is light, absorbs into the skin really well and make the skin so soft and moisturized.  Mix it a little with foundation for glowly glass skin look.  What I find this serum really unique that the skin has this very nice subtle pearly glow when you look at it.  It has this transparency glittering pearl that makes people wonders what you did to your skin-the kind like you get when you mix high grade pearl powder to your makeup.  I guess it is because Tin oxide is presented coated with titanium dioxide which explains the beautiful glow.

I didn’t experience breakouts and my skin does feels plumper and firmer after one month up to when I finished the whole bottle which is about 5 months.

Overall, Klavuu White Pearlsation Special Divine Pearl Serum is a serum for someone who want to get into anti aging Korean skincare products, love light serum and not allergic to the ingredients in the serum.  It is great for someone that just wanted to add skincare of brightening serum into the makeup foundation for that glow.

REVIEW ON iUNIK TEA TREE RELIEF SERUM

I am sure you know that I am all about acne prone skincare products since I acne prone skin. Do you understand my pain of some people giving you unsolicited advise when they never have acne before? Oh, if only we could outgrown that acne phase just by using ONLY water. If only skincare is that easy 😶😔.

I have been using this Korean serum for more than a month, iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum.  This is a gentle and a plant based serum to treat acne and for even dry skin type.

iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum comes in a glass dropper style 50ml bottle. For the price of USD15.49, I think it is really affordable for the ingredients in it. The green colour comes from the ingredients and it has not synthetic colouring or fragrance in it.


What I like and find interesting is the simple ingredients consisting of Tea Tree Leaf Water 67%, Centella Asiatica Leaf Water 19.5% and the other 13.5 % are extract from plants and preservative.

There are butylene Gylcol, niacinamide, Broccoli extract, alfalfa extract, cabbage extract, wheat germ extract, rapeseed, radish seed, allantoin, beta glucan, adenosine, Ethylhexylglycerin and sodium copper chlorophyllin.

Sodium copper chlorophyllin is to reduce odor since not every plant smells like sugar and flowers  since this product does not contain any added synthetic fragrance.  It is a safe ingredients that had been using for a long time.

I like the short and simple ingredients. Still do check the ingredients list since there can be some people who are allergic to ingredients in it.

iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum is for calming the skin and to treat the acne at the same time. It does not dry my skin at all even when I only apply this serum as the last step since my place is at 35 Celcius (93 F) and humidity that is at least 92%.

Tea tree water is not the same as tea tree oil as it could be a steam distilled fraction from the leaves or is the left over after the tea tree oil is distilled from the plant.  It contains part of the tea tree plant that are soluble in water and usually has a similar smell to the essential oil.  So technicality no tea tree oil, but comes from the tea tree plant.  In other words, tea water is much gentler that tea tree oil because tea tree oil usually will cause burn if it goes undiluted on the skin.

Terpinen-4-ol is a terpene that has an antibacterial and antifungal effect which is an active ingredient of tea tree oil.  The water-soluble fraction identified as terpinen-4-ol, α-terpineol, and 1,8-cineol.  Terpinen-4-ol was able to diminish the production of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-8, IL-10, and prostaglandin E2 by lipopolysaccharide-activated monocytes.

It means that it is a potential antioxidant.  Tree Leaf Water 67% with Centella Asiatica Leaf Water 19.5% and other ingredients to soothe the skin irritation, whack the pimples into submission and then corn it with healing wound ingredients such as vitamin E, adenosine (for proper healing with no scars), anti-irritating and stimulate growth of healthy tissue.

Beta glucan, Broccoli, alfalfa, cabbage contains great antioxidants like vitamin A, C, and E work to support health function of immune cells and boost immune system.  Our skin do absorb some product of what we put on our skin so serum does help the skin to heal faster.

iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum is a great nice gentle serum. The serum is unscented and it is a very watery liquid. It absorb almost immediately upon application on my skin. It is not drying at all given that I use it twice a day. My pimples actually get really tiny the next day and disappeared the day after. As for underground pimples, the one you can feel painful but there is no head to press, it does flatten them out and some immediately come up to a head the next day. I think it must be the high percentage of all the great ingredients put into this bottle of serum.

I actually stop using all my other acne products to try it for two days and the effect is still wonderfully fast and gentle. Given that the bottle is 50ml, I think it is a great deal and I myself would recommend it for someone who could not deal with strong BHA, AHA or just wanted something that they can use daily, show fast result but being gentle at the same time.

Overall, iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum is a great acne prone serum for all skin types. The simple short ingredients make it great for even sensitive skin like mine. Currently, it is one of my staple product for acne.

Today is the review of the ID. AZ Dermastic Water Fit Water  from IdPla cosmetics.   Other sheet masks that I received are ID.AZ Dermastic Bright Fit Mask and ID.AZ Dermastic Golden Fit Mask.

You can find ID.AZ sheet masks from Watsons Malaysia.  ID.AZ Dermastic sheet masks are from  Korean ‘ID Health Care Group’ is a company which had given operation to about 60, 000 people for 18 years.
So, their products are suitable for people even after skincare procedure such as lasers.

ID. AZ Dermastic Water Fit Water has the lining of the packet as blue to signify water which I think is great to make it easier for people to identify one suitable for their skin.

The ingredients inside the sheet mask are basically hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, sea water, panthenol, betaine, allantoin, irish moss,glycerin. So this mask is moisturising and best used for someone with dry skin and right after procedures that dries the skin such as laser.
Keeping the skin hydrated and moisturised is best to fasten up the peeling and healing process.

Most of the time, if the skin is really dry with damaged barrier moisture, the skin does not heal well and become really red. So, using a hydrating sheet mask like this can balance up the water and oil balance on the skin.

ID. AZ Dermastic Water Fit Water has super skinny fit, soothe my skin and create a moist skin.  It is great that it helps to replenish the tired skin overnight.  However, with combination or oily skin it is recommend to use this sheet mask once per week  and not on daily basis.

It does have fragrance in it.  The sheet mask is super thin and has a lot of left over essence which is great for longer hours of sheet mask.  It does help to hydrate the flaky area near my mouth area.

Overall, ID. AZ Dermastic Water Fit Water is a great sheet mask for those with damaged skin barrier, dry skin or after procedures such as peels and laser.

ID.AZ Dermastic Golden Fit Mask is hydrogel mask and at the price of Rm19.90 I do think it is affordable.  The sheet mask design and packaging has a professional look to it.

The first ingredient is water and second ingredient are glycerin which is normal for hydrogel.  Some ingredients are emulsifier, thickener and also preservatives.  Other ingredients inside this hydrogel mask are iris moss, collagen, green tea, ginger. adenosine, honey, licorice, propolis, panthenol, allantoin, pomegranate, ceramide, royal jelly, five flavor berry and peptide.  These products are anti-inflammatory, has skin soothing capabilities, increasing moisture to skin, fasten the healing process and has antioxidant properties to reduce wrinkles.  Some of the other ingredient such as 1,2-Hexanediol is humectant which is a moisture-binding agent.

There are some fancy ingredients in there which is the epitome of richness such as gold (1ppm) and pearl extract.  😃  The yellow is because of colouring while the dot shine is from the gold.

The mask sheet is folded into two inside the packet.  It is separated into two which makes it fit my face really well.  Application is easier when you apply the sheet mask on the face first before removing the top lining.  Be careful as it is a jelly type and I accidentally rip the top because I was too rough taking it out of the packet.

ID.AZ Dermastic Golden Fit Mask is a hydrogel which stick to my face well but it is not as sticky as the one that I can jump on a trampoline and it will be still be stuck on my face.  It is easy to remove and it didn't shrink to a thin layer even when I was wearing it for 3 hours.

ID.AZ Dermastic Golden Fit Mask has light floral scent.

It does hydrated my skin well without any stickiness, brighten my skin and help to plump up my skin.

Overall, I would recommend ID.AZ Dermastic Golden Fit Mask to someone who likes hydrogel sheet mask, after skincare procedures, love hydration, anti ageing sheet mask, being extra and just want to feel fancy like Queen of Nile.
